What is Invisalign Teen?
Using the same core technology that has allowed adults to straighten their teeth and achieve a smile they always dreamed about, Invisalign has developed a braces alternative specifically geared to YOU – Teenagers! Yes, Invisalign has added specific features to the Invisalign Teen Aligners to account for the types of tooth movements that is common among young adults. What this means is that now you too can see if Invisalign Teen is an option for you!

How does it work?
Essentially Invisalign Teen works the same way that Invisalign does.
After determining that you are a candidate for Invisalign Teen treatment, Dr. Harner will take very accurate impressions of your teeth. Then Dr. Harner sends the impressions to Invisalign with a detailed prescription for the desired tooth movements. Next, a 3-D computer model of your teeth is created. Then Dr. Harner works with Invisalign to move your teeth into their ideal positions on the computer. Once ideal tooth positions have been determined, a series of Aligners are manufactured specifically for you with the desired tooth movements built into them. When you wear your Invisalign Teen Aligners, your teeth will gradually get straighter and straighter. Each Aligner in the series is typically worn for two weeks, while the incremental tooth movements are occurring.
Since the Invisalign Teen Aligners are virtually invisible, you will be able to show off your smile to all your friends throughout the entire process! No worrying about driver’s license picture, junior and senior prom, homecoming, sports, etc. etc.

Am I a candidate for Invisalign Teen?
At your initial exam, Dr. Harner will be able to determine if you are an Invisalign Teen candidate. Invisalign Teen can help correct a wide range of orthodontic and dental issues such as crowded teeth, gaps between your teeth, crooked teeth, and some bite issues.

How long will it take?
The total number of Invisalign Teen Aligners varies depending upon the complexity of your case and the total tooth movement necessary. Most Invisalign Teen cases are completed within 6 to 12 months!
